Cloud is where most of our customers are moving, and that’s where most of our investment now goes. Over the past year we’ve shipped plenty of new features, and also migrated most of our apps to Forge, Atlassian's new developer platform. That work makes our apps more secure, keeps them compliant, and prepares them for where Atlassian Cloud is heading. Running and supporting apps at Cloud scale also means ongoing costs for infrastructure, security reviews and certifications, and customer support. This update keeps Cloud development sustainable, so we can keep shipping the features you ask for.
Data Center is no longer sold to new customers, and its end of life is now on the calendar. As that date gets closer, the cost of keeping each app secure, compatible and supported on Data Center rises, while the number of customers sharing that cost falls. This update lets us keep supporting Data Center customers reliably right through end of life.
What this means for you
