Attending my first Team event at Team ’25 Europe was an experience I won’t forget. Walking through the Atlassian sessions and talking to our valuable partners and fellow app vendors, I felt the energy, curiosity, and excitement around how teams work today - and how they could work in the future.

Key Shifts in the Atlassian Ecosystem

🧭 From Dev Tools to Business Platforms

Atlassian is clearly evolving beyond its roots. What was once a stack for technical teams is becoming a business-wide platform, with AI and solutions at the center.

  • Collections like Teamwork and Service bundle tools and agents around real workflows — targeting non-technical users and specific business units.
  • Rovo, the new AI teammate, is embedded across tools, enabling search, chat, and automation for anyone, not just devs.
  • Solution-focused app discovery reframes Marketplace apps as utilities for business problems — not just developer plugins.
  • With Rovo + Forge, users can now build lightweight apps and agents themselves — a powerful shift that may challenge traditional vendors.
  • Enterprise-ready scaling with “Runs on Atlassian” and Units reflects deeper investment in security and compliance.

🔧 For Devs, Builders & Architects

The developer story isn’t fading — it’s shifting.

  • Teamwork Graph links people, work, and knowledge — offering a shared data layer that apps (and Rovo) can build on, potentially beyond Atlassian tools.
  • Forge is the future, while Connect quietly sunsets. Atlassian’s nudging vendors forward — but the platform is maturing fast.
  • The Cloud push continues, with infrastructure updates making the move harder to resist.

What It Means

Atlassian is becoming a platform company, not just a product company.
Teams will work faster and smarter.
Developers will gain more power — but face more competition.
Vendors like us need to rethink their place in an AI-native, solution-driven ecosystem.

The foundation is shifting. It’s time to move with it.

My focus is to make our collaboration as smooth as possible right now ensuring our apps and enablement efforts adapt to the new realities, and that our partners can confidently grow with us in this exciting new chapter.

We’re also committed to making app adjustments and migration to Cloud as smooth as possible, supporting our partners and customers every step of the way to ensure an easy transition and continued success.

Team ’25 Europe showed that the future of teamwork isn’t coming - it’s already here.
